Spot UV Introduction

UV, often referred to as spot UV, although it can also be full UV, relies on ultraviolet light to cure UV ink on printed paper, creating a raised effect in specific areas. UV printing is further categorized into gloss UV, matte UV, thickened UV, frosted UV, color UV, etc. Among these, gloss UV is the most commonly used, highlighting patterns and colors in the entire flat or matte printed paper, elevating the elegance and sophistication of the printed material.

UV printing is typically associated with silk screen printing, but nowadays, it is also done with offset printing. When using UV over laminated surfaces, it requires the use of UV-specific laminate; otherwise, issues like UV peeling and bubbling may occur. UV printing works exceptionally well when combined with embossing, hot stamping, and other special effects.

Application Areas

UV printing finds widespread application in various fields such as book covers, catalogs, booklets, inner pages, hardcover gift boxes, corrugated paper boxes, cardboard packaging boxes, folded sheets, paper bags, greeting cards, invitations, etc.

When employing UV printing, the most common challenges include misalignment, partial peeling, bubbling, and other phenomena. The successful application of UV printing relies on the professional competence and attitude of printing personnel.
