Die Cutting
Die cutting is the process of cutting bespoke shapes into paper or a board using a die. This is a common process for custom printed stickers that have a specific shape to them. A steel cutter chops the board or paper into the desired shape, and you are left with a custom silhouette.
Die cutting is a process that involves creating specialized die-cutting knives based on the design requirements of printed materials. Under pressure, these knives are used to cut or crease printed materials or other substrates into the desired shapes or patterns. This technique is suitable for products using paper with a weight of 150g and above. It is advisable to avoid intricate patterns and lines close to the cutting edges.
Application Areas
Die-cutting finds widespread application in various paper printing products, including book covers, catalogs, booklets, inner pages, hardcover gift boxes, corrugated paper boxes, cardboard packaging boxes, folded sheets, paper bags, greeting cards, invitations, and more. Skillful application of die-cutting can achieve a high-quality result at a relatively low cost. However, in cases of simplistic die-cutting, poor technique or quality management can result in subpar outcomes, which is not uncommon in the industry.
